$75,000 Goal

Help us end homelessness this Give to the Max Day! Ending homelessness is a bold goal, and we can only achieve that goal in Minnesota with help from people like you. Avivo works in many ways to end homelessness. We provide education and training. We support recovery and mental health. We prepare people for employment and success. Avivo is the only organization to offer this continuum of services designed to help individuals and families transform their lives – and it’s working! Please join us in this effort by making a donation to Avivo today! Donate early and see your gift doubled! The first $30,000 raised will be generously matched, dollar for dollar, by two anonymous donors.

Give to the Max Day falls at a time when the temperatures have dropped and snow blankets our state. It also falls during national Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week. Watch the videos below to learn more about Avivo's work to support individuals and families experiencing homelessness and/or food insecurity.

We believe everyone deserves the chance to live well and work well.

Avivo serves more than 11,000 individuals each year; helping them achieve recovery, find housing stability, and achieve employment and economic advancement. Serving Minnesota since 1960, we specialize in helping individuals and families who face complex barriers – poverty, homelessness, unemployment, chemical addiction or mental health concerns – achieve recovery and economic stability. Avivo’s holistic approach to providing chemical and mental health services, career education, and employment services embraces each person’s unique journey. Ultimately, our paired services lay a foundation of health, and social and economic wellness, that transforms lives.

Give to the Max Day is a good time to bring attention to one of our newest and most innovative programs, Avivo Village. Avivo Village is the nation's first-ever indoor tiny home shelter, a community of 100 secure, private dwellings, located in Minneapolis, that provides shelter and wraparound services to individuals experiencing unsheltered homelessness.

Avivo Village is designed to be a dignified, safe, and COVID-aware alternative to outdoor encampments. It is a low-barrier shelter that operates as a transitional housing and harm reduction model. It serves adults experiencing unsheltered homelessness in Minneapolis and Hennepin County. It offers dignity and access to essential services, like substance use disorder treatment, mental health therapy, medical care, and pathways to employment support and overall well-being. Residents begin to discover next steps for permanent supportive housing, obtain employment, and receive healthy living supports.
