Augsburg Fairview Academy offers a teen-friendly, and family-friendly atmosphere in which students are deeply respected and everyone is held to a high standard of personal honor. Students find their place among people who care a great deal about them and their future. They encounter adults who use positive, strength-based approaches to help them succeed. Students are given a great deal of trust and independence with the expectation that they will, in turn, conduct themselves as responsible and self-directed learners.

We are a passionate learning community dedicated to serving the academic, social, and emotional needs of high school students in a safe and welcoming environment.  We provide individualized options to help students successfully graduate and set clear expectations for them to explore and pursue their dreams.

THE COMMITMENT THAT SETS AFA APART FROM THE REST:

We enroll all high school-aged students who want to earn a high school diploma and we stand with them for as long as it takes to get ready for college, career, citizenship, and a happy life. 

We provide excellent, college-prep instruction. We offer rigorous coursework, customized curriculum, and support for those with special learning needs. 

We live by a code of wellness that values caring, kindness, and honesty. We try to do nothing that would cause harm and we take responsibility for healing any harm we do cause. We encourage students to consider a career in health care or a caring profession.

We believe that there is no such thing as a "bad child" and we reject punishment as a means to improve behavior. We utilize restorative practices and foster a sense of belonging, mastery, independence, and generosity. 

We are an extended family for our students. We reject “zero tolerance”.
