The Waseca Area Neighborhood Service Center originated in the 1970Õs starting as a Neighborhood Center. People came to the center to share garden produce, conversation, and used clothing. Activities during those early years consisted of winter coats and mitten drives for families in need. In 1982, the Neighborhood Service Center was incorporated as a private non-profit agency, with the Thrift store as the primary fund raising activity. During this time, an Emergency Food Shelf and Supplemental Senior Food Program were also incorporated into the agency. In 1988, the Center purchased the building at 203 3rd Avenue Northwest and renovated the building in 2002 to ensure our place in the community.
