Antiracism Community of Transformation (ACT), formerly known as ASDIC Metamorphosis,  is an esteemed antiracism workshop provider located in Minnesota serving organizations and individuals nationally. ACT has worked across different sectors, customizing its work to the particular focus and formats needed by organizations. ACT’s programs are noted for their depth of analysis, opportunity for dialogue and reflection, the building of relationships and community, and lasting transformative change.  ACT was founded in 2004 by Okogyeamon, a former monk, teacher, and now ordained UCC minister, and Margery Otto, an attorney.

ACT provide antiracism dialogue experiences that build awareness, knowledge, communication across structures of domination, motivation and commitment. All workshops conclude with individual and collective planning for racial justice, with participants transferring the knowledge learned into the contexts of their own lives. ACT assists host organizations in developing concrete implementation plans, empowering participants with the motivation and skills to create a new, racially just society.

ACT offers a wide range of services to businesses and organizations seeking to improve their capacity and competence in interacting with communities and individuals of color, seeking to reduce institutional racial disparities, and wishing to more fully embody their moral concern for racial justice and justice and equity in structures, policies, decisions, and practices. This work requires addressing underlying assumptions, perspectives, and practices arising from the U.S. racial legacy.

SPECIAL INVITATION

Save-the-Date the Power of Transformation virtual fundraiser with ACT on December 5 from 7-8pm CST.

Join us in celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Antiracism Community of Transformation, formerly known as ASDIC Metamorphosis. Our evening will feature special guest Tom Duke who has been a supporter, advisor, and trusted friend of many years in building the ACT programs. Tom is well known in the Twin Cities for being instrumental in building multifaith platforms that work for social justice. Stay tuned for more on Tom to come!

Our fundraiser will host testimonials and stories of how antiracism study and dialogue has transformed participants in the last 20 years of service to our community! You won't want to miss this!

In celebrating our 20th anniversary, our goal is to raise $ 20,000! Will you join us in supporting antiracism training for the next 20 years?

Paramount to its twenty-year mission is the creation of a relational, antiracist community and the building of capacity within communities to organize and sustain antiracism awareness and action. Margery Otto and Okogyeamon developed the ASDIC curriculum in 2004 with the letters “ASDIC” standing for Antiracism Study-Dialogue Circles.  They believed that dialogue and storytelling could be transformative.

We invite you to join us for an evening of community and connection!
