Did you know that half of our operating funds come from people like you? We rely on supporters like yourself to make the services, programs, and preservation efforts we offer possible each year. You can see our work not only in person but through the wonderful electronic platforms we have utilized more and more in the past year- check out our social media, website, and online collections! We are also working hard to document history as it happens.
Founded in 1934, the Anoka County Historical Society is dedicated to preserving and sharing Anoka County history. To fulfill this mission, we must not only preserve the physical and digital artifacts of the county, but also capture the stories that make those things meaningful. It is through those stories that we forge the connections between past and present, and make Anoka County history accessible to all living here today.
We have been honored with national and state awards for our excellent programming. We bring the stories of Anoka County’s past to life with fascinating public programs and thought-provoking exhibits at the Anoka County History Center and Library. Each year, the dedicated staff and volunteers of the Historical Society serve thousands of history enthusiasts.
The Anoka County Historical Society serves Andover, Anoka, Bethel, Blaine, Centerville, Circle Pines, Columbia Heights, Columbus, Coon Rapids, East Bethel, Fridley, Ham Lake, Hilltop, Lexington, Lino Lakes, Linwood, Nowthen, Oak Grove, Ramsey, St. Francis, and Spring Lake Park.
Artifacts in the History Center have been donated by Anoka County families, businesses, and organizations.
Museum operations depend on donations, membership fees, program revenues, and funding from Anoka County.
The Anoka County Historical Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Contributions to ACHS are tax-deductible within the allowable limits of the law.
