Minnesota has the highest rate of out of home placement for American Indian youth compared with all other states. At American Indian Family and Children's Services (AIFACS), our mission is to develop and support foster homes in providing compassionate, stable, secure, and culturally competent care for American Indian children and youth. AIFACS is an organization that licenses American Indian foster homes for when temporary, out of home placement is needed. This way, children can stay connected to their community and their culture. AIFACS recognizes our collective responsibility to promote and protect the sacred spirit of American Indian children and families placed in our circle of care.
