The Albert Lea Healthcare Coalition was established after the Mayo Clinic closed our local hospital and moved many other services to another county.  Our objectives include the promotion of healthcare market competition and choice, the expansion of access to essential healthcare services, and the improvement of healthcare outcomes for the 55,000 residents of Albert Lea, Freeborn County and surrounding communities.

As a result of extraordinary efforts of many local volunteers, MercyOne came to our community in Stage 1 of 5.  We have more stages of expansion to complete in the next few years to try and replace the healthcare services that were taken from us.
