In 2011, the Lord brought together a group of parents who shared the convictions that education is discipleship and that the Lord requires Christian fathers to provide their children with educations where the truth of Christ reigns in all areas of life — including all academic subjects (Deut. 6; Eph. 6). These families became convinced of the efficacy of the Classical Christian approach through reading Douglas Wilson’s books Recovering the Lost Tools of Learning and The Case for Classical Christian Education, as well as first-hand experiences with Classical Christian schools in other areas. Finding no such schools in the Twin Cities southwest metro, they determined through prayer and glimpses of God’s providential hand that it was His will for them to start Agape Christi Academy.
Agape Christi Academy exists as an extension of Christian families in the biblical command to raise children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. The love of Christ compels us to teach God’s truth with intentionality, bridling the power of knowledge with humility and discipline in light of Christ’s total authority. To that end, our school provides a distinctively Christian education, employing challenging classical methodology and content. We work in concert with parents and the church to cultivate joyful young people whose lives reflect the truth in love. Our aim is that students live faithful Christian lives, equipped to lead and transform culture through the gospel to the glory of God.
It is the intention of Agape Christi to offer grades K-12 and to become accredited under the Association of Classical Christian Schools (ACCS) by 2020. We plan to eventually find a permanent location near our current Eden Prairie campus. As the Lord blesses, we hope to be a source of help to other Christian schools in the coming years. Your financial support provides need-based scholarships and funding for these things as well as other special budgetary items.
donate on Give to the Max Day?
Agape Christi is pleased to announce we are again participating in the annual Give To The Max Day. Donations made to Agape Christi Academy will propel the school through this vital transition year. With our exciting move to Liberty Baptist Church, we are encouraged by the strong attendance at our last two open houses. However, the move came with one-time costs (e.g., $16,000 for a new fire alarm system). Would you please help us to cover our expenses this year through a generous donation? We are excited to springboard from a solid foundation this year into a season of rapid growth in both our excellence and size now that we have a facility that allows us to grow.
