The AEOA Foundation Fund gives AEOA flexibility to use funds for various situations as a last resort when there are no other options. This fund has allowed AEOA to help many people with GED and employment needs, dental anesthesia for surgery, hygiene items for shelters, vehicle repairs, and assists with other needs that often mean the difference between hunger, joblessness, or homelessness.

The Arrowhead Economic Opportunity Agency (AEOA) was established in April 1965, as a 501(c)(3) non-profit Community Action Agency for Cook, Lake, and St. Louis Counties in response to the 1964 Economic Opportunity Act. AEOA's mission is to strengthen communities by providing opportunities for people experiencing social and economic challenges.

AEOA offers diverse programming across six service departments including Employment and Training, Head Start, Housing Resources, Housing Services, Senior and Nutrition Services, and Arrowhead Transit. The Agency has grown in response to community needs and now offers programs in Aitkin, Carlton, Cass, Chisago, Crow Wing, Isanti, Itasca, Koochiching, and Pine Counties. Not all programs are offered in all counties. AEOA is widely recognized as a primary support resource for the region's low-income population.
