MEET EMILY*

Accord's Housing Stabilization Services play a vital role in addressing the many challenges and obstacles that unsheltered individuals face when seeking safe and stable housing. Emily's* story is a powerful testament to the transformative impact of these services. Having experienced hardship and trauma, including homelessness and traumatic brain injuries resulting from abuse, Emily* found herself in the midst of a complex legal battle, yearning to return to a place close to her heart, the Twin Cities. Accord's Housing Stabilization program stepped in, providing her with a safe, stable apartment and a dedicated support team to assist her in rebuilding her life. But this program extended far beyond the provision of housing; it became a source of empowerment. With newfound stability and unwavering assistance, Emily* not only thrived but also resumed her advocacy efforts, working to effect change in legislation related to domestic violence and homelessness. Her story is a shining example of how Accord's Housing Stabilization Services restore hope and empower individuals to rebuild their lives, bringing light and color to what might have been a bleak winter of their lives.

This year for Give to the Max, Accord aims to warm up our individuals supported by our Housing Stabilization Program during the winter months by channeling funds toward winter essentials like hats, mittens, socks, blankets, hand warmers, stocked toiletry bags, and bus rides to facilitate their access to vital social services. With your support, individuals transitioning out of homelessness will gain access to the resources they need at a key time during their progress!

Thank you for your generous support!
