Abiding Branches Cooperative Preschool

By focusing on the whole child, Abiding Branches Cooperative Preschool provides a safe and nurturing Christian education to young children.

Way back in 1977, a group of concerned parents and a high quality teacher started Anoka county's very first cooperative preschool.  As a cooperative, parents are an integral part of our preschool program.  Parents volunteer in their child's classroom three times throughout the year.  This early involvement in the child's education shows the child just how much he is loved and how important quality early education is.

It is our philosophy that children develop best when provided with an environment that is inviting, caring, stimulating, safe and flexible.  We like to provide each child with a positive feeling about him or herself and about school.  We believe that children who are given new and interesting activities are eager to learn.  We strive to provide this type of environment by offering a "center" approach to learning.  Along with learning how to act in a large group, the children are active participants in the small group and individual centers which are planned.  ABC Preschool uses developmentally appropriate practices to enrich the child's social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and physical growth.  Daily learning experiences in creative art, music, science, dramatic play, small and large muscle skills, and basic kindergarten readiness are provided. 

We are overseen by a board of directors made up of parents. Donations make it possible for ABC Preschool to  provide quality materials and supplies for our classroom.
