A Wife Like Me Inc

“A Wife Like Me” is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit headquartered in Fergus Falls, MN. Our mission is to transform women to thrive as wives. We currently serve 120,000 wives each month around the world through our blog, podcast, video teachings, social media influence, Dear Wife: 10 Minute Invitations to Practice Connection with Your Husband, and new membership site. Our resources are building stronger marriages, families, and communities. We are expanding our ministry to reach and strengthen millions of wives and support is crucial to help move our mission forward and become the loudest voice speaking to wives. 

The U.S. has seen a sharp rise in the number of couples interested in, or filing for divorce since the coronavirus outbreak began in March. According to a recent report, the combination of stress, unemployment, financial strain, and a number of other factors caused by the pandemic has put a significant strain on relationships, and divorce rates have spiked 34 percent from March to June compared to 2019.

While this is surely one side of the story, we are also seeing another, which is that wives who have already connected with A Wife Like Me are now digging in deeper. They are looking to us as they navigate isolation and increased tensions at home.

While church attendance, involvement, and engagement have declined, the A Wife Like Me community has seen a 31% increase in direct messages asking for support, additional resources, insight, or prayer.

We’ve responded to the need for growth and accountability wives are asking for, and launched a membership site, the A Wife Like Me Collective, for wives to grow in their faith and their marriage through monthly speakers, counselors, challenges, and accountability. Women have access to courses on Faith Foundations and Bible Study Basics as well as a Bible Study group which will begin reading through the Bible come January. To best assist wives as they study Scripture, The Genesis: Bible Study Journal (available on Amazon 1/1/2021) is the first in a series of studies to help women study Scripture. As this year comes to a close, we pray for continued prayer and additional financial support. Our financial needs include funds for paid administrative help as well as covering ongoing expenses required to run a non-profit business like A Wife Like Me.

Your support comes at a critical time. A Wife Like Me has grown to reach 120,000 wives every month with a team of 18 unpaid writing freelancers. Yet with an increased workload and management of content mapping for an additional five counselors, 12 Teaching Team members, 15 Podcast Team members, and three interns, help is needed so that A Wife Like Me can continue the important work today and into the future.
