712 Giving

Winter (sort of) Greetings! 

With golf courses opening for the April like weather we thought it would be a good time to  talk about the O’Brien “Irish Open” and 712 Giving. From a fundraising standpoint, 2023 was  a remarkable year for 712 Giving. In the first year as a 501C3 the Foundation continued to  grow and expand its outreach. Proceeds from the golf tournament were used to make  $10,000 donations to both Debbie Pehrson of Waseca and to our favorite St. Michael junior  high student, Emmy Edlund. Solely due to your generosity we were also able to give smaller  gifts to several other families that are going through tough times. One of which included a silent  auction foursome donation for one of our own, as JP and Sally work through treatments for  JP’s cancer. The unwavering support from all of you is truly incredible. 

As we look forward to 2024, we are in the beginning stages of mapping out our goals. At the  top of the list is the ability for year-round charitable giving. We want to move beyond giving  away meaningful dollars just at the golf tournament. It is our vision to be able to give to  those who need assistance on their timeline, not ours. Our analysis tells us we need to  double the amount we raise on a yearly basis to achieve that goal. 

We know we are the conduit here and we can’t achieve our goals without you. We also know  there is no shortage of good organizations that can use your charitable dollars. We are going  to continue to push the boundaries on our side and ask for your continued support and  your voices to spread the word.
