Imagine sleeping on the floor every night. How would it affect your performance and your health? Tonight, there will be many kids in our communities who can't go to bed, simply because they don't have one. And without a bed, there's no chance for the healthy night's sleep kids require to be at their best each day.
The 40 Winks Foundation is dedicated to getting kids off the floor and into a new bed, to provide them with healthy, restorative sleep and reach their full potential.
When our network of non-profit partners becomes aware of a child or family sleeping on the floor, they let us know. We donate new mattresses, boxsprings and frames to our partners, ensuring that our donations go to those who need them most.
The 40 Winks Foundation grew out of an annual mattress donation event at Slumberland Furniture, Homes for the Holidays, that began in 1991. Over the years, Slumberland learned that the December gifts were barely a drop in the bucket of need that existed. So in 2008, the 40 Winks Foundation was created to give new beds to those in need all year long. To date, more than 35,000 beds have been given: that's 35,000 lives improved by better sleep.
Administrative costs for the Foundation are covered 100% by Slumberland Furniture, which means every dollar received by 40 Winks goes directly to our mission of getting kids off the floor.
