Ending Hunger Together

As a leading hunger-relief organization, and the second largest food bank in the country, Second Harvest Heartland provides 81% of the food distributed by more than 1,000 partner food shelves and hunger-relief programs in Minnesota and western Wisconsin. We also help families enroll in food assistance and provide prepared meals for people who need more than groceries.

Hunger is on the rise in our state. 1 in 5 Minnesota families were already struggling to afford the groceries they need. Now thousands of our neighbors are impacted by the largest SNAP cuts in history, as well as the loss of paychecks for federal workers and the grocery assistance so many rely on is cut-offdue to the government shutdown. This Give to the Max Day, we need your help now more than ever to reach our goal to fund 2 million meals for neighbors experiencing hunger.

When we gather together as a community, every action we take can make a real difference toward hunger-relief. Every $1 donated from November 1 - 20 can DOUBLE in impact to provide 6 meals, thanks to matching funds from our generous Give to the Max Day sponsors:

“Over the holidays, it was very nice to receive a holiday package… getting the stuffing and the vegetables and the cranberries and the milk and that kind of stuff. I was able to make my regular turkey meal and have my sister and her husband and a couple of her kids over.” —Lorri, visitor and volunteer at CEAP food shelf, a partner of Second Harvest Heartland Donor support makes community partnerships possible, like our distribution with Agate Housing and Services and the Minnesota Turkey Growers Association. On Give to the Max Day last year we provided more than 200 turkeys and holiday meal staples like biscuits, potatoes, and milk to neighbors from Second Harvest Heartland's mobile distribution trailer.
