A century of service

At Phyllis Wheatley Community Center, we create pathways for individuals to discover their strengths and take control of their futures. Working to create equity and equality for the African American people of the Twin Cities through programs that educate, engage, develop, and restore individuals and families, we've reached a milestone this year — our centennial — and we hope you're as inspired as we are to support our plans for our future.

Join us in Honoring Our Past and Building Our Future

Today we are asking you to take action in solidarity with Phyllis Wheatley Community Center. Please consider donating to sustain our essential work and to honor our legacy as a cornerstone of the Black community in Minneapolis. A generous, anonymous donor will match up to $50,000 raised before the end of the year. That means you have the chance to double your impact today!

Impact of your donations

Your gift will sustain and strengthen our programs, which provide holistic care and essential services for families, like early childhood education, crisis support, financial education and afterschool enrichment. Youth explore at Phyllis Wheatley's Camp Katharine Parsons site, closed for nearly 25 years. Now, the camp's restoration will provide outdoor equity and access for youth in our community, allowing them to reap the benefits of nature — for health and human development, and hope for better futures.

What’s more, your donation will serve as an investment in Phyllis Wheatley’s vision for the future, which includes our ambitious plans to reopen Camp Katharine Parsons so that it may once again host children and families across 100 acres of pristine forest and wetlands.

Giving at any level has an immediate impact on Northside residents who need support to navigate challenges and overcome disparities. Join our community of supporters right now and your gift will be matched.
