Hello all! Thank you for visiting my birthday donation page. As a member of the Executive Board for One Village Partners, I am very passionate about the work the group is doing in Sierra Leone.
The Mission: Enhance collective wellbeing across Sierra Leone by investing in people and communities through partnership.
The Vision: A future where Sierra Leoneans amplify their collective power to lead transformational change in their communities.
Examples of Programs:
Empowering Rural Women
One of the cornerstones for OneVillage Partners is women's economic empowerment. We firmly believe that empowering women leads to stronger families, communities, and economies. From providing picture-based training, fostering entrepreneurship, and providing access to improved agricultural inputs, the NOW program is paving the way for women to thrive and become agents of change in their own right.
Last year, we saw an 88% increase in women’s involvement in household financial decisions, and 100% of participants increased their earned income. All 561 NOW participants had increased their savings by the end of the program.
Improving Health and Wellbeing
Last year, our partner communities completed projects to improve sanitation and hygiene, improve education access, and reduce infant and child mortality. These projects led to significant reductions in health-related issues, including an 80% reduction in hunger and a 73% reduction in diarrheal disease.
