This is the moment!

Over the course of the last year, MNIPL has focused on protecting our most vulnerable communities from the harms of climate change, holding those most responsible accountable to reparation and repair, and preventing further harm by helping non-profit organizations and communities of faith, conscience, or spiritual practice take meaningful action to reduce their carbon emissions and build the resilience of their communities.

None of MNIPL's work would be possible without the support of grassroots donors like you.

We need resources to meet the scale of the challenge and possibility in front of us. We ask that you give more generously, more ambitiously, and more meaningfully than ever.

Every contribution matters. Every difference we make comes from all of us.

MNIPL Highlights

Decarbonization

Because of MNIPL's guidance and efforts, as of Fall 2025, dozens of congregations and nonprofit organizations are benefiting from solar energy, generating 1.5 MW of green electricity for more than 30 communities. We have also offered dozens of households information and connections to providers to build rooftop solar or make their homes more energy efficient.

Black & Native Reparations

The same systems that separate us from caring for the earth also work to separate us from caring for one another.

We can’t work towards a thriving, just, and sustainable world without also committing to repairing the wounds of land theft and enslavement. Since 2023, MNIPL has hosted spaces for Minnesotans to take meaningful action here and abroad on Black and Native Reparations through our Reparations Learning Tables and our Reparations Learning Labs.

Community Climate Resilience Network

In 2025, MNIPL launched our Community Climate Resilience Network (CCRN), a series of training, In 2025, MNIPL launched our Community Climate Resilience Network (CCRN), a series of trainings and conversations for organizations across the state who are interesting in become places of safety, support, and connection to build climate resiliency in their area.

We also launched a Community of Practice for organizations ready to take action to help them learn from each others' experiences. And, in order to bring more organizations into this work, we also hosted trainings across Minnesota about the importance of building climate resilience.

Advocacy & Education

MNIPL is committed to advocating for administrative and legislative policy that supports the health and repair of our environment and prevents further harms from climate change. Whether pushing for the Public Utilities Commission to hold true to our state's carbon-free commitments to hosting listening session across the state about the impacts of climate change on insurance rates, MNIPL brings together passionate people who care about this world and the people who live here.

Most recently, MNIPL hosted a series of information sessions about what's driving up our energy prices. We covered topics like changes in federal incentives for clean energy to the construction of new massive data centers and we offered people concrete action to take.

Rise + Repair Alliance

This Legislative Session, MNIPL played an important role in the Rise and Repair  of 28 organizations that brought over 300 people to the Rise and Repair Rally and lobby day at the State Capitol. The event and coalition uplifted the Indigenous Rights and Climate Justice legislative platform, including Indigenous, youth and faith speakers.
