Eliminating Racism. Empowering Women and Families.

YWCA Minneapolis is dedicated to eliminating racism and empowering women and children throughout our community. For more than 130 years, we’ve partnered with our community to provide equity-centered programs that address systemic issues at their roots.

Working alongside our partners and neighbors like you, we have served more than 15,000 people this year alone. Our work is making a difference, but there are still so many more people who need our help. Early childhood education is still inaccessible for thousands of children, youth are facing an unprecedented mental health crisis, and Minnesota continues to have one of the highest racial disparities in our country.

We need your help to continue addressing these issues. Today, you can give the gift of a better future and help pave the way toward a future where every community member has the resources they need to thrive.

Paving the Way Campaign

For more than 130 years, YWCA Minneapolis has been paving the way to a better future – one where we eliminate racism, empower women and ensure every person has the right to peace, justice, freedom, and dignity.

Together with our partners and supporters, we’ve made notable progress toward the future we envision. But there is still so much to do. The COVID-19 pandemic has worsened existing disparities in our community, and we are seeing long-term consequences, especially for youth and historically marginalized communities. Unless we act now, these challenges will have a cascading impact on the well-being of our entire community.

That is why YWCA Minneapolis is launching our Paving the Way Campaign to raise $4 million by July 1, 2024.

Every dollar raised will provide immediate assistance to our community. Campaign funds will improve and expand our 5 Early Childhood Education Centers; 8 Girls and Youth programs; comprehensive Racial Justice and Public Policy work; and our consolidated health and wellness operations at Midtown, our future Community Hub. This campaign is already making a big difference, but we still need your help to make sure our community has the resources it needs now.

Together, we can pave the way to a better future for all. Will you join us by making a gift today?

“I feel wiser, more self-aware and more self-reflective. I know I’m not less than anyone, and I can thank Girls RAP for being a great support system while I was finding my way.”

"I am really appreciative of the help my family has gotten to give Ahara this opportunity. The scholarship has helped a lot. My daughter’s education is really important to me, but without the scholarship, we just couldn’t afford it. She’s so smart and engaged; she wants to understand and learn about everything!"
