Legal Representation and Advocacy for Youth in Foster Care

Your support is vital to the 700 youth in foster care, CLC represents everyday.
Giving generously today positively impacts kids who are going through some of the roughest times of their lives and like the rest of us, facing the reality of the ongoing global pandemic. Kids, like Amani.

Amani's Story:  Amani entered foster care last summer with two younger siblings. They lost one parent to extreme violence; and another to prison. Amani has shown amazing resilience, fortitude and grace as she works to heal herself and to support her younger siblings as they navigate their new world. In spite of these impossible challenges, Amani graduated from high school this spring with honors and is heading to college this fall!

Your donation today gives children like Amani an advocate, when they most need someone by their side.

Your generosity supports Minnesota’s most vulnerable children and youth. Thank you!

Interview with Jim Proman, CLC Volunteer Attorney

Jim Proman has been a long-time CLC volunteer attorney. He is a zealous advocate for his clients and consistently goes the extra mile for them as he advocates on their behalf and ensures that all their needs are being met and all obstacles are removed. Thank you, Jim for sharing your motivation, passion and commitment to Minnesotan youth!

COVID-19 Impact on Youth in Foster Care

Because of COVID-19, the economic crisis, and America’s reckoning with racial justice, our young clients’ lives have changed drastically. Social services and healthcare are harder to access, youth have experienced delayed adoptions, and just the day to day of knowing what’s next is gone.

For 26 years, CLC has given a voice to the most forgotten and invisible children who need stability and care, especially during the current unprecedented situation.  CLC continues to persist in this mission in spite of almost daily changes to court procedures.

Please consider making a one-time gift, recurring donation, or contact Amanda Finman-Palmer to make a legacy commitment. Your generosity supports Minnesota’s most vulnerable children and youth. Thank you for your compassion!
