This year we are funding a $1,000 scholarship for an Edison High School student who exemplies the "community" in music and plans to continue their involvement in music after high school. They may or may not be a music major. The Ralph Sowden Memorial scholarship is named after Ralph Sowden, a trumpet player who graduated from Edison in 1971 and who served as NECB's treasurer for 20 years. He passed away in 2021.
