World Wide Village Cervical Cancer Screening

This fall I was part of a team (Worldwide village) from Iowa City and Madison that took a 1 week mission trip to Haiti. Our mission station was in Williamson and Luly, where we had both medical clinics and soul care. It was such a blessing for me to be part of this team but even a greater blessing to care for the Haitian people. If you have watched the video above, Haitian women have one of the highest incidence of cervical cancer in the world. For as little as $50, five women can be screened and pre-cancerous lesions treated. The impact of this screening and treatment on the larger society is invaluable. For Haiti to grow and be a an economically sufficient  nation it needs healthy women.
