Each day, an average of 80 Americans are diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, an autoimmune disease that requires its victims to constantly remain vigilant about what they are putting in their bodies or risk the chance of death. There currently exists no cure for this fatal disease, but the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is tirelessly utilizing all of its resources to find one. On May 2nd, 2015, the men of Delta Tau Delta Omicron chapter at the University of Iowa will face off against the Iowa City Police Department in a softball game to benefit JDRF. This philanthropy event, entitled "Sluggin' for a Solution," will take place from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Happy Hollow Park in Iowa City, and it has great potential to raise funding and awareness for JDRF with YOUR HELP! Every donation is important.
