Life happens, but service doesn’t stop.
Thousands of AmeriCorps members in Minnesota wake up each day with a commitment to serve their communities. But sometimes, life puts up barriers that require extra help to overcome. It could be a car repair you weren’t expecting. Or needing a new pair of boots to handle Minnesota’s winter weather. It could be the abrupt loss of housing, a family emergency, or no access to nutritious food. Life happens, and sometimes it can be pretty tough.
Everyone needs support along the way – including our AmeriCorps members who are providing critical support to communities across the state. That’s why we’re launching the ServeMinnesota Emergency Fund, which will provide one-time, no-strings-attached payments to AmeriCorps members with unexpected expenses. Each AmeriCorps member in Minnesota can access the Emergency Fund to apply for mini-grants to help prevent an unexpected expense from causing a long-term hardship.
