At Marcy School for the Arts, we believe every child is a masterpiece in progress.

Nestled in the heart of Minneapolis, Marcy is more than an elementary school- it's a thriving hub of creativity, discovery, and connection. As a PreK-5 arts magnet school, we've reimagined what learning can look like by integrating dance, theater, visual arts, and music into everyday instruction.

Every eight days, something extraordinary happens at Marcy: classroom teachers and arts teachers co-create lessons that blend math with movement, science with sculpture, and literacy with live performance. In second grade classrooms, students use body language and movement to learn about punctuation. In fourth grade, they compose music to explore fractions. These are not enrichment activities- they are the curriculum. And they are transforming how our students see themselves and the world.

The results? Students are more engaged. They see their cultures reflected. They feel seen, valued, and inspired to learn.

But magic like this doesn't happen by accident. It requires vision- and support.

We are raising $75,000 to fund:

• Arts residencies that bring professional artists into classrooms ($10,000 per grade level PreK-5). 
• Fully fund our Arts Integration curriculum that allows our specialist teachers to team with grade level teachers. ($5,000)
• Provide teacher grants that allow our teachers to imagine what is possible and apply for funding to make it happen ($200)
• Supplies for our hands-on learning approach
• Staff recognition to celebrate the incredible educators who make this work possible
