The charity I have chosen to fundraise for is an organization called, “Lions Tiger & Bears, A Big Cat & Exotic Animal Rescue.”

The Lions Tigers & Bears Mission Statement ~ “Lions Tigers & Bears is dedicated to providing a safe haven to abused and abandoned exotic animals, and inspiring an educational forum to end the exotic animal trade.”

I have taken the following information from their website...

Established in 2002, Lions Tigers & Bears is a NO KILL, NO BREED, NO CONTACT animal rescue, sanctuary and educational facility. It is accredited by both the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries and the American Sanctuary Association. It is currently home to over 60 rescued animals of 19 different species.

Did you know ~~ There are more tigers living in backyards, basements and roadside zoos than in the wild? That there is no federal law regulating the private ownership of inherently dangerous wild and exotic animals like lions, tigers and bears?

When Bobbi Brink, founder of Lions Tigers & Bears, learned these things she was moved to do something about it. And she has! I had the opportunity to meet her last April and hear her story. What a remarkable woman!

Why am I doing Stark Naked? Fitness and exercise have always been an important part of my life. Even as a little girl, doing gymnastics. I had A LOT of energy, and having an outlet for that was an important part of my mental well being. That’s still true today. I feel better, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well, when I’m exercising regularly. I don’t consider myself a competitive person (except with myself!), but I feel like right now, in my life, I need a challenge, and I’d love to see what my body is capable of at 50-something!
