2nd Chance at Birkie #37

Friends and supporters of Cool Planet,

Getting ready for my 2nd chance at skiing my 37th Birkie in 3 weeks.  The race was cancelled last year due to lack of snow!! So we were part of making a documentary with our friend and filmmaker Diogo Frerie Saving Snow. the 53 minute film will be shown 3 times at the Birkie this year and all over the country as part of our educational effort to tell the story of the economic impact that our warming winters are having on local communities. Please consider hosting a screening in your neighborhood.

I love this time of year when I train hard, eat a lot and watch my health very carefully. It takes a lot to ski 55 km in one day...takes me 6-7 hours to complete the course....one of the world's toughest and most beautiful cross country trails.

Knowing that I'm raising funds to support my life's work always gets me to the finish line.

The tide is turning on climate awareness and actions to bring our society into the renewable energy age. Saving winter will still take a bit of a miracle but at least our kids and grandkids have a shot at a livable future because of our work together.

More important than the money is talking about solutions and the tangible thinks that you are doing as a model for your network of friends and colleagues.

Think snow and 15-20F on Feb 24 for my 69 year young body to have a safe and fun journey thru the Northwoods of Wisconsin one more time.
