My Story
I recently joined the Minneapolis Urban League (MUL) and its Young Professionals (YP) Auxiliary to contribute to our community and connect with other young professionals with a similar passion. Learning about the impactful work that MUL is engaging in and the opportunity Project Ready provides to our youth has motivated me to fundraise for these students. I want to see them succeed and see us close the achievement gap in our community and inspire the same throughout the country!
About Project Ready
Project Ready prepares a new generation for success by integrating academic skill-building with life skill development and college culture awareness. It’s a student-centered program that will meet twice weekly from January to April and is geared towards students in grades 9-12. Not only will students be matched with a mentor during their senior year, but they’ll also participate in a HBCU tour around the Washington, DC metro area. Students will tour Hampton University, Howard University, Morgan State University and Virginia Union University as well as the African American History Museum.
