South High Theater has a very strong and well-respected theater tradition.
For years, our students and mentors have sustained a supportive community that is based on positivity, hard work, safety, fun, and relentless creativity. We produce plays on two stages - our 600 seat main stage (Seussical photos above from March 2019) and 50 seat Skybox Studio theater. South Theater engages 150+ students in acting, directing, designing, playing in the pit orchestra, building, sewing, marketing, and more.
Friends of South High Theater (FOSHT) is the parent booster group for the South High Theater program. We facilitate group meals during tech rehearsals, assist students with publicity, raise funds to supplement the program budget and pay a portion of the salaries of the theater professionals who work with our students.
