Did you know there are over 500 performing arts organizations in Minnesota? They vary in size, scope, and geography, but all are important contributors to the arts and culture landscape that makes our state remarkable in so many ways. Please help us keep Minnesota's performing arts scene amazing by supporting this organization that supports the broad performing arts ecosystem across the state.
The Minnesota Theater Alliance connects, supports and advocates for the statewide performing arts community. We gather needs and ideas from the community, and create programming that aligns with our mission and directly speaks to the needs of performing arts organizations and practitioners.
Donations from the community are vital to making this small budget, large scope organization be sustainable. With just two part time staff, we implement a range of high-impact program activities:
- An annual statewide theater conference
- Tourism partnerships with Explore Minnesota and other partners
- A general liability insurance program
- Promotion of SpaceFinder Minnesota, in partnership with Fractured Atlas and Springboard for the Arts
- Professional development events, such as fundraising and marketing training series'
- Conversation events, on topics related to space, equity, health, safety, diversity, and inclusion
- A Performing Arts Human Resources Toolkit informational website and workshop series to help our community take care of the people involved
- Managing an audience development cohort in partnership with TRG Arts for analysis and permission-based list sharing
- Affinity groups for Artistic Directors, Executive and Managing Directors, etc.
- Maintaining a full list of all Minnesota performing arts organizations, and a map of those with a physical location
- Advocacy roles in rallying the community on topics of funding or other important issues.
- Resource lists and information included on our website and in ongoing communications
- Capacity building and technical skill workshops for practitioners in Greater Minnesota
