Dear Friends and Family,
This year, we're going to finish one of the greatest sporting events in the world while proudly representing a fantastic facility. And we want to share this tremendous experience with you, every step of the way!
You're probably aware of the privilege we’ve had of fundraising together for the past 3 years for the Michael Carter Lisnow Respite Center (in fact, this is Cindy's 19th year and Katie's 3rd year in doing so), which was founded by Sharon (sister/aunt) in honor of her beloved son, Michael. Michael was born 16 weeks early, weighed less than 1 pound, and faced enormous challenges such as blindness and cerebral palsy. Even though Michael passed away some 19 years ago at the tender age of 10, he had and continues to have a profound impact on countless people.
You also no doubt remember the tragic circumstances of the 2013 race, and the horrific effects they had on so many innocent lives.
The two of us are resolute in our determination to continue the tradition and return to Boston, well-prepared for the 26.2 miles. We’re eagerly looking forward to joining the hundreds of thousands of runners and spectators who will be proving that, 2 years later, 'Boston Strong' is indeed still alive and well.
That same spirit is what drives the great staff at the Respite Center every day. They provide loving and vital care for hundreds of New England families, and your generousity and support of our efforts will, in turn, become great resources, critical to the work being done at the Respite Center. We invite you to learn more about the center by visiting www.hopkintonrespite.com.
We humbly ask for you to take a few quiet moments, consider the great blessings you have in your life, and then contribute what you can to help provide much-needed light for those less fortunate. Our fundraising goal this year from our friends and family is $45,000, and whatever total we are fortunate to bring in will be matched by an extraordinarily generous benefactor.
We know we can get there with your support and prayers. Thank you for whatever you can do to be a part of the great work being done at the Michael Carter Lisnow Respite Center, and may God bless you and your family.
Love,
Katie and Cindy
