Starlight On Main Theatre Company was created because we believed our communities deserved something they had been missing for far too long: a place where live theatre could once again thrive.

For more than 30 years, Montevideo and Granite Falls had no established community theatre. Countless talented people grew up without a local stage to perform on, families had to travel to experience live productions, and opportunities for artists slowly disappeared. We believed our communities deserved better. That belief became Starlight.

Our mission has never been to create theatre for just one town. Community theatre should never stop at city limits. It belongs to everyone. We proudly serve Montevideo, Granite Falls, Madison, Dawson, and communities throughout western Minnesota because great stories have the power to bring people together, no matter where they call home.

Today, we are making incredible progress toward that vision. In Montevideo, we are restoring the historic Hollywood Theatre, bringing it back to life as a performing arts center, movie theatre, dinner theatre, and gathering place for the entire community. At the same time, we are building new partnerships to establish a lasting community theatre presence in Granite Falls while continuing to expand opportunities and partnerships for performers and audiences in Madison and our surrounding communities.

Our goal is simple. We want every child to have the opportunity to step onto a stage, every adult to know there is a place where they belong, and every family to have the chance to experience the magic of live theatre close to home.

Starlight is about much more than producing shows. We are creating opportunities, preserving local history, supporting artists, partnering with schools and community organizations, and giving people a place to connect through creativity. We believe the arts make communities stronger, and we are committed to making sure they remain accessible, affordable, and welcoming for everyone.

Every ticket purchased, every volunteer who gives their time, and every donation helps us continue that work. Together, we are restoring a historic theatre, creating new stages, inspiring the next generation of performers, and proving that community theatre can flourish again in rural Minnesota.

This is more than our story. It belongs to everyone who believes that the arts have the power to bring a community together. We are simply honored to help raise the curtain.
