Lake State Alpine Racing

Thank you for your interest in Lake State Alpine Racing (LSAR), the original Hyland Development Team (DTeam). 

The DTeam at Hyland has been in existence for over 30 years. In 2019, the team was rebranded as Lake State Alpine Racing (LSAR) and organized as a non-profit 501(c)3 organization in Minnesota. We have a board of directors that oversees the program and all funds we receive are used for LSAR programming needs. 

Lake State has a legacy of building strong skiing and racing skills while making skiing fun for racers. The race component of LSAR adds elements of challenge and competition, which enhance the fun and learning experience for racers. Weekly practices allow racers to focus on their technical skills in smaller groups. Our races extend beyond the metro allowing racers to test their skills on a variety of terrain.

Lake State is more than a junior development race program. We are a community of skiers who enjoy recreating in the snowy months of our long winters!

In addition to maintaining equipment and hosting events for our community, Lake State has a vision for the future that additional funds can be utilized to implement the following:

1. Scholarships for exemplary high school coaches who come up through the program
2. Discounted registration or vouchers for prospective low-income families
3. Staffing for a Bloomington Elementary School try-it day at Hyland Hills 
4. Private education events for our coaches to increase the depth of knowledge
