Our affiliate began in 1991 as a response to the basic need of adequate housing. Since then we've built 34 homes in our two county area. In the current state of our economy, adequate and affordable housing is vital for the increasing populations entering the poverty threshold. This year we also completed over 60 A Brush with Kindness projects for low-income families. That's the second highest number of exterior home projects completed by a Habitat for Humanity affiliate in the entire state of Minnesota! We also began a new Neighborhood Revitalization program to allow us to take a more holistic approach to neighborhood improvement. But, we need your help to impact more lives in Freeborn and Mower counties. Having a safe, decent, and affordable home allows families to thrive and flourish. Children are better students and families are more active in their neighborhoods and communities when they feel secure. Being freed of financial burdens and unsafe living conditions empowers families to focus on living better lives.
