Joseph raising money for Springboard for the Arts
A fiscally sponsored project of Springboard for the Arts.
Since 2009, Classical Actors Ensemble has been performing plays from the English Renaissance (Shakespeare and his contemporaries), giving audiences the opportunity to see passionate, accessible productions of drama from one of the richest and most exciting playwriting periods in human history. We do this to entertain theater-loving audiences, but we also provide an important resource to high school, college, and university students through our educational outreach.
We are currently wrapping up the 2014 season and making plans for the next.
We plan to open the 2015 season in March with film noir-inspired productions of Arden of Faversham and Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, but we can’t do it without you. Our goal is to raise $5,000 before the end of this year so we can continue to provide our actors with a competitive wage, and a high-quality performance venue while keeping our ticket prices at the most affordable rates in the Twin Cities. Thus, your contribution is invaluable.
It has been an amazing year of high quality theater for Classical Actors Ensemble. Our spring and summer productions garnered glowing reviews from critics and audiences alike, and we look forward to continuing to grow our Twin Cities presence. Thank you for your generous support.
"The show [Chaste Maid] is jam-packed with juicy performances woven together through precise comic pace and timing. If you’ve never been to a CAE show you may be pleasantly struck by the winning combination of a relaxed atmosphere and an array of first rate actors who really and truly know the classical acting craft and how to make it accessible." – Lavender Magazine
"Go. See them. Classical Actors Ensemble hasn’t just dusted off these old classics. They’ve reinvented them." -TC Daily Planet
"Our language has changed quite a bit since 1613, but our sense of humor clearly has not." -Aisle Say Twin Cities
