Bridge to Books

Bridge to Books is a Minnesota non-profit organization founded solely for the purpose of supporting Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in the Stillwater area.  The Imagination Library provides one free book per month to a child, from newborn to five years of age. Our mission is to financially support the Imagination Library program in our area by covering the costs of the books provided.  In doing so, we commit ourselves to foster a love of reading, to treat every child and family with respect, and to invest in the imaginations and futures of our youngest community members.  

Since launching in 1995, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has become the preeminent early childhood book gifting program in the world. The flagship program of The Dollywood Foundation has gifted well over 150 million free books in Australia, Canada, The Republic of Ireland, United Kingdom and the United States. The Imagination Library mails more than 2 million high-quality, age-appropriate books each month to registered children from birth to age five.

Bridge to Books relies on individual donations to bring high-quality books to our community.   A donation goes a long way!  For instance, a donation of $132 provides a book to a child each month of the child's life from newborn to age 5. 

Since launching in 2021, Bridge to Books has gifted over 22,500 books to kids in the Stillwater area!
