Whose stories are worthy of telling? Who owns the keys to decide? Our path at Justice Theatre Consortium is to collectively re-construct these power dynamics and remove the barriers for both individual artists (who are BIPOC, LGBTQIA, Women, and/or artists with physical or neurological disabilities) and theatre organizations whose mission or practice promote justice for these same individuals. JTC is fiscally sponsored by the Minnesota Fringe who will be accepting donations on our behalf.
Our upcoming projects your donation will fund:
Community News Media Salons - These pop-up artist salons will provide a communal way to engage current events in the world today. Funding for this project will go toward insurance, space rental, and artist stipends. Goal: $3,000 for the first salon, $2000 each additional pop-up.
Individual Artist Co-Lab - We support individual artist producers who are members of our target communities with managing director type organizational support for their theatrical productions, removing the barriers to getting their work produced. Goal: $5,000
Launch our first Theatre consortium cohort - Each consortium will group 3-5 small theatres whose mission or core practices promote justice and provide a framework for sharing resources and creating more sustainable practices among the members. Our launch will involve a think tank of interested theatres and non-profit arts experts to create the framework and launch an inaugural season. Goal: $15,000
