Hello! We are Morph Creative Reuse Center.
We are a new nonprofit formed in Rochester to promote the donation and reuse of arts and crafts materials. Our mission is to provide a physical space and community spirit for sharing, reusing and repurposing of art and craft supplies in SE MN.
You may have met us at a pop-up market in 2025 while we were spreading the word about our mission: bring an arts and crafts thrift store to Rochester. Now we've embarked on the next step: opening a permanent location with regular business hours and shelves for alllllll the incredible items we have received from the community so you can shop our treasure trove.
Morph has signed lease to rent a storefront at 821 3rd Ave SE in Rochester and will be opening this summer. To accomplish this, we need YOUR help.
What We Need
Opening a business comes with lots of start-up costs. We are asking for community support to help us with those one-time needs and give us the financial leg up we need to open strong.
We are asking for $6,000. This will cover furnishings, paint, signage, a security system, and our first 3 months of rent/utilities to help us open with our best foot forward and the momentum to keep our doors open for many years.
What You Get
To say thank you, we have the following rewards to offer our crowd funders:
- Our eternal and undying gratitude - YOU make Morph possible
- A new favorite thrifting stop in Rochester (us!)
For those donating $50+, you'll receive a handmade "coupon" for a 10% discount on your Morph purchases - applicable for our first year of operations. Claim your "coupon" on your first visit after we open!
For donors $250+, your name will be included in a Founding Funders mural in the lobby. This mural, created by Morph founder and president Natalie Peterson, will celebrate the support of our top donors.
Why Morph Matters
Many perfectly useable art and craft materials gather dust when the original owner loses interest. Additionally, many art materials have steep environmental costs, from raw material extraction and manufacturing to usage and disposal.
However, art is also a powerful tool for reuse and environmental sustainability. Commonly discarded items like plastic bottles, old fabrics, or even scrap metal can be transformed into new artworks, minimizing waste and encouraging innovative thinking.
Creative reuse centers like Morph function as repositories for almost any type of art or craft material. We collect donations from the community and business partnerships and redistribute them to the community. This cycle helps us all reduce waste, repurpose manufacturing surplus, and foster creativity and resourcefulness among shoppers, artists, and community members. At Morph, we have already collected over 400 lbs of supplies that would otherwise have been thrown away.
