Why I Support YouthCare!
Tara and Baby D.Life can take unexpected turns, and in 2011 when I was six months pregnant, mine took a sharp one. A single accident left me with chronic pain and a weakened leg, jeopardizing my career and our family's main source of income. Suddenly, we were faced with mounting medical bills and the challenges of raising a newborn while navigating a complete career change.
Those years were undoubtedly difficult. We relied heavily on community support to put food on the table and ensure our child had a safe and nurturing environment. Countless acts of kindness, big and small, allowed us to move forward and build a stronger future.
Looking back, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the network of individuals and organizations that stepped in during our time of need. Their compassion and support became a lifeline, reminding us that we weren't alone.
This personal experience in my past is why I support YouthCare today. They are on the frontlines, providing critical services to young people experiencing homelessness in our community. These youth, facing unique circumstances, share a fundamental need for care and support. YouthCare's staff and partners work every day to help clear the path towards a brighter future for each young person they serve.
Just like the community embraced me and my family during our hardship, I believe every young person deserves access to the resources and opportunities that YouthCare provides.

I am thrilled to be part of YouthCare's team of dedicated staff and volunteers who make a difference in our community every day. We truly believe that, together, we can create a future for our community where homelessness is never a possibility for our young people. It's a bold vision, rooted in hope and a shared sense of awe in the power of our young people, and the love within our community.
YouthCare is meeting young people where they are, and providing hope and stability so that they can each strive towards their fullest potential. In 2023 YouthCare served 1,779 young people aged 12 to 24; 35 of these youth pursued their GEDs, and 177 joined job skills programs. 66% of young people who completed job training activities with YouthCare were employed or actively seeking work after training.
Right now, young people in our programs are working hard to move towards their next goal - they are working towards safe and stable housing, GED attainment, job skills, and a thriving future. Your support helps fund their bright future; please make a gift today!!
