In an American courtroom, British-American dual citizens often request foreign proxy right.

It goes like this though:

* "Is this some sort of SEPARATION TRIAL?"

* "I would assume that is some sort of divorce trial to the British mind? No, this is not a divorce court. But while an American criminal trial defendant is pregnant, dad can muss up mom's defense trial if he doesn't understand this is not a custody hearing, etc."

* "Well, and what is the government of your country known for separating FROM?"

* "Okay, but now we're dithering even further from the point of MY immediate criminal defense. To the point: what is a 'separation trial' in England? I'm sure it's something. Can you define?"

* "ORDER : out of the scope of this court by trial defendants own admission."

* "Okay, then I want my baby's daddy thrown out of my courtroom. Even if it's that he was trying to get co proxied for his own criminal trial."

* "Sustained. As entered."

So. It's not a matter for my trial. Asking for a friend.

If MPR could do more feature reporting on England's belief about American governing processes. Whether they're with us or against us in it.
