Divine Comedy Ballet by artist Anna Betz

Inspired by Dante Alighieri's 700-year old masterpiece, choreographer Anna Betz is producing an original ballet based on The Divine Comedy. 

The first of many steps toward building a full-length ballet, this fundraiser will ensure that a solid framework is laid out for the development of the entire monumental work.

Our goal is to raise $4,000 to commission original music composed for ACT 1: Inferno. This composition will lay the foundation for the choreography for The Divine Comedy Ballet. Original music for ballets is growing less common with time, but we know that new music needs to be created for the new territory that this immersive ballet experience will explore.

After this stage of fundraising, we will continue to run fundraising campaigns and apply for grant funding to support the development of the entire project. Funds raised will go toward paying dance artists, musicians, composers, circus performers, puppeteers, costume designers, theater rental, set & lighting designers, and many more creative talents that will come together to make this major project come to life for new audiences!
