Hello! Thank you so much for your consideration in support of my 10 year old son, Eden, attending Midwest Skate Camp this summer. Eden has been skate boarding for a couple of years now and is getting better and better each day! He loves it so much and is truly passionate about it and driven to get better. Whenever he gets the chance he is on his board. We frequent all the skate parks around Milwaukee, indoor and outdoor and have become staples at quite a few of them. Sadly, coincidently, both of our local indoor skate parks are closing down right now from unfortunate circumstances and he loved going to those places. Always asking, "Can we go to the skate park??", luckily summer and better weather is approaching. I know that Eden would be motivated and enriched by an opportunity like going to overnight skate camp. He would immensely benefit from it and thrive as he is there and definitely after. He has had a few older skaters and teachers helping him out a bit over the years, teaching him things and mentoring and he really gained from those people and we are always seeking more ways for him to learn from other skaters. I can see that being immersed in it for a whole week with a community of other skaters and skate people will be amazing and so powerful and beneficial for him and his already true love for skateboarding. Eden is very hard working towards things he is passionate about and this is definitely one of them. He is determined to improve and grow in his abilities as a skateboarder.
My wife Megan and I have multiple jobs each and live off of a very modest income for ourselves and our two sons, Eden and Everett, his older brother. A couple of our jobs are off through the summer as they are work within schools while they are in session. Teaching assistance and non profit work. Our budget in the summer for summer activities is slimmer than other times of the year and this is why your generous contribution would help so, and mean so much to us and Eden as we try to give our kids the opportunities to experience what they are intrigued by and variety.
Thank you so much for your consideration and contribution of any size towards his chance to go to Skate Camp this summer. It will mean the world to him as he is already packing his bags! With your help we can reach our goal of $600 which would help us cover the cost of tuition for the week long camp.
I asked Eden a few questions to get some of this in his own words and these are his answers; Why do you want to go to skate camp? “Skate boarding is my best hobby and my favorite thing to do and I want to learn more tricks.” What do you hope to get out of this experience? “I hope to learn more tricks and get more braver at trying things.” What are you most looking forward to about going to skate camp? “Games of skate boarding all day and meeting new people and making new friends and learning a lot.” What tricks do you hope to learn while there? “Pop shove it and rock and roll and axel stall and some more lip tricks and how to ollie higher and grind.” Why do you like skate boarding? “Because you can fly off ramps and do cool tricks, I also love it because my friends like it too and I like the community and culture of it.” Who is your favorite pro skater? “Andy Anderson, Nyjah Huston and Tony Hawk.”
“I can’t wait to go to Skate Camp, it's gonna be so great!”
