Traumatic experiences have a ripple effect on people, expanding beyond the individual, onto families, and into communities. When trauma is not processed (and ultimately resolved) it creates unhealthy patterns that follow a person through life and into future generations. A victim of violence may end up having to deal with up to 11 different systems before court cases are resolved. Where do you even begin? This is where HOPE Coalition comes in.

HOPE exists to fill the gaps caused by trauma – to walk along-side during a crisis. The ultimate goal is to end the generational cycles of abuse, violence or poverty, and help create safer, healthier and more resilient communities.

P.S. In 2022 HOPE Coalition made Minnesota history for victim's rights: Advocate's notes are now confidential by Supreme Court law (HOPE Coalition vs. Conrad). In July 2023, the perpetrator plead guilty to sexually assaulting two children. In the best of times, the Court process can be draining. Because of donor generosity, HOPE's Advocate was there to help the family throughout the trial prep process, interviews and pre-trial hearing. The children were strong and courageous and did a superb job in telling their story. People like you made this happen.
