At Children’s Cancer Research Fund, we believe a world without childhood cancer is possible – but it’s going to take all of us.

Don't miss your chance to further your impact for childhood cancer research with our matching gift opportunity! Gifts made by December 31 will be matched, up to $100,000, thanks to a generous group of CCRF donors.

Why Support CCRF:

  • We focus on hard-to-treat cancers. Our goal is to help researchers develop safer, more effective treatment options for cancers where survival rates remain low or haven’t improved in decades.
  • We provide research funding in the early stages of research and fill in gaps along the way, when funding from federal or other sources just isn’t available. Our support jumpstarts new ideas and propels research forward.
  • We support the nation’s top scientists at some of the best childhood cancer centers in the world. Childhood cancer is a complex problem that is unlikely to be solved by any one person or hospital. Curing childhood cancer requires collaboration and attacking the issue from multiple angles. That’s why we fund research that leverages collaboration and makes data sharing easier and more effective.

How Your Support Makes a Difference:

  • Better treatment options and cures always start with donors like you. In childhood cancer, the road to new, better treatment options always starts with donor support. Federal funding is not available to researchers until they’ve gathered enough preliminary data to prove something is worth carrying forward. Even then, support is limited – only a small percentage of federal cancer research funding goes to pediatric cancers.
  • For every $1 that CCRF gives to a researcher, they are able to gain an additional $18 in support from federal and other grant sources. This is absolutely crucial to advancing research and improving outcomes for children.
  • Funding research works. The survival rates for childhood cancer have risen from 10% in the 1960’s to almost 80% today, thanks to advancements in research and medical care. But we still have work to do. Childhood cancer is not just one disease – there are more than 12 major types and over 100 subtypes – which makes donor support crucial to addressing this challenge.
  • Kids and families battling cancer are at the center of what we do. Our drive to find new and better treatment options is fueled by the kids and families we work with. We want kids to not only survive cancer, we want them to thrive and live long, healthy lives. Nearly all survivors will have a significant health issue by the time they are 45 years old. Today’s therapies cause late effects like heart issues, hearing loss, cognitive delays, infertility and secondary cancers. Our research support aims to prevent those late effects from ever occurring.
